Restriction Notes

STRONG LANGUAGE, OBSCENE LYRICS, STRONG SEXUAL EXPLICITNESS, RACISM, PREJUDICES, LYRICS OFFENSIVE TO OR AIMED TO OFFEND ANY PARTICULAR GENDER, RACE, RELIGION, PEOPLE, INCLUDING ANTI-SOCIAL OR HATE BEHAVIOUR, SATANISTIC, OR CRUDITY, WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT SUCH MATERIAL. OF COURSE, WE DO NOT MEAN THE BASIC LOVE, LUST, BAD BOY SONG. WE MEAN THE EXPLICIT NASTY STUFF IS OUT.

We are not doing a religious theme,(although we have nothing against that either). However, the purpose of Bands United is maximum exposure. We want the maximum airplay possible. Many many radio stations do not play tracks that have language and such. All songs must meet with the standards of the most stringentt radio airplay. This will make sure that we all get the maximum exposure. Themes offensive to certain individuals, groups, or organizations will not be included; which may include, but are not limited to: religious slighting, devilish/satanic, racist, crude and rude, put down, vulgar, or promoting hate or anti-social behaviour. Perhaps in your area the standards for airplay are a lot more lax, but remember this is an international effort and the goal here is exposure exposure exposure.

COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL
Anything that is not yours, forget about it. No covers. No rip-offs. Nothing that belongs to someone else. We obviously do not want any legal problems and feel that art belongs to the Artist. So if you don't have permission to cover it, use something else. Covers require written proof of permission by the original artist and their label/publishing company. (Even old material)

UNFINISHED WORK
Unfinished work will be listened to but not included. If you do not have a finished song, that's ok. Send it to us. We will listen to it and give you some suggestions, but we cannot include unprofessional/unfinished tracks that ill reflect badly on the rest of us.

Know that any and all tracks that have minor editing either by Bands United or by the band themselves will have a tag noting that it is the edit version and the original version can be heard on your band's CD.
